RULES

 

The Second Pratté International Harp Competition for Young Talents will take place between January 17th and January 20th, 2022, in Norrköping Concert Hall (Norrköping De Geerhallen), Sweden.

 

1. The competition is open to harpists of all nationalities. Contestants must be between the ages of 15 and 25 on January 1st, 2022 ( i.e.. born on/after 01/01/1996 and on/before 01/01/2007).

 

2. All stages of the Competition are open to the public and will take place on an open stage without a screen.

 

3. All works must be performed from memory, with the exception of eventual contemporary piece(s) in the free-choice part of the first round recital (i.e.all works written after 1950). Regarding the pre-selection video (see the repertoire section), it is NOT mandatory to play the chosen piece from memory.

 

4. In the first round, the contestant may choose the performance order.

 

5. Harps and individual practice-room times are provided to all active contestants. Guaranteed practice time is to be consistent for all active contestants. Contestants may of course also perform on their own instruments.

 

6. Full applications should be sent no later than Sunday, November 14th, 2021, 11.59 PM (CET time). Please read all the details about application procedures under the Registration section down below.

 

7. On 16th of January at a time that will be precised later on, contestants will be gathered in Norrköping Concert Hall to draw numbers in order to determine the order in which they perform.

 

8. The first round will take place on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th of January.

The final round (together with Norrköping Symphony Orchestra ) will take place on the evening of Thursday, 20th of January, with a rehearsal the day before and a dress-rehearsal on the morning of January 20th.

 

9. The contestants are by applying agreeing that their performances may be live-streamed and recorded.

 

10. The decisions of the jury are final.
